Glossary

All Suppliers wishing to be referenced must meet a Damart representative; the terms will differ depending on the type of Supplier:
 
  • If the Supplier has its own production site
It must open up its production site for visits by a Damart representative (agent appointed by Damart, sourcing manager, buyer, quality manager, product manager, CSR manager, etc.).
The Damart representative will visit all the factory’s production units and the shared premises (canteen, dormitories, etc.) and may interview certain workers.
During this visit, these evaluations will focus on all the information/documents provided during the referencing process (S106 and S107) and in particular the following chapters:
  1. Factory equipment (type of machinery, etc.)
  2. Number of employees
  3. Health & Safety of workers
  4. Minimum age, child and young worker labour
  5. Forced labour
  6. Non-discrimination of workers
  7. Disciplinary measures, harassment or mistreatment
  8. Freedom of association and grievance system
  9. Working hours
  10. Salaries and benefits
 
 
  • If the Supplier is a trader/importer:
It must present the entire process established to assure Damart that the women and men who have manufactured the Damart products are treated with respect and the manufacturing processes do not have an impact on the environment. In this context the Supplier must provide evidence of what was claimed in the self-evaluation questionnaire during the referencing process.
It must also accept visits to the production sites by a Damart representative (see above).
